Privacy Policy

LocalRank ("we") helps local trade businesses see how AI assistants talk about them. This page explains what we collect and why, in plain language.

What we collect

When you run a scan we collect the business name, city, and trade you enter, your email address, and optionally your phone number.

Our scans query public AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) using only your business name, trade, and city — never your email or phone.

Like most websites, we also collect basic usage data (pages visited, device type) through the Meta Pixel to measure our advertising.

How we use it

To run your AI visibility scan and email you the report card.

To send a short series of follow-up emails about your results — every email includes a way to opt out, and the series stops on request or on purchase.

To provide the paid Monitor service (weekly re-scans and alert emails) if you subscribe.

To measure and improve our advertising through aggregated conversion events (e.g. "a scan was started").

Who we share it with

Service providers that run LocalRank: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Stripe (payments — we never see your card number), Cal.com (call booking), and Meta (advertising measurement).

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your contact details with the AI engines we test.

Retention & your choices

Scan results and business details are kept so your report link keeps working. You can ask us to delete your data at any time and we will remove your business, scans, and contact details.

You can unsubscribe from emails with one click, and you can block the Meta Pixel with any standard tracking blocker without affecting the product.

Contact

Questions or deletion requests: reply to any LocalRank email, or use the contact details on our homepage. We're based in the Greater Toronto Area, Canada, and handle personal information in line with PIPEDA.
